Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site, National Historic Site in Contra Costa County, United States.

The Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site features a house with Asian-influenced design, including dark blue ceilings and wooden floors spanning 13 acres of land.

Built in 1937 with Nobel Prize money, the Tao House became a National Historic Landmark in 1971 and received National Historic Site status in 1976.

The resident playwright created three major works during his stay: The Iceman Cometh, Long Day's Journey Into Night, and A Moon for the Misbegotten.

Visitors must make advance reservations and take a free shuttle from downtown Danville at 205 Railroad Avenue, as private vehicles are not permitted.

The interior decoration includes traditional Noh masks and Chinese guardian statues, reflecting O'Neill's appreciation for Eastern aesthetics and philosophy.
