Sikh Center of San Francisco Bay Area El Sobrante

The Sikh Center features multiple golden domes and tiled structures in pink, cream, and beige colors atop a hillside overlooking San Francisco Bay.

The construction of this religious center began in 1977 after local Sikhs purchased five acres of hillside land, with the first phase completed in May 1979.

The center provides daily langar, a traditional communal meal served to all visitors who sit together on the floor regardless of their background.

The temple remains open from 5:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily, requiring visitors to cover their hair and remove shoes before entering the premises.

The northeast wing includes a large deck offering views of El Sobrante Valley and San Pablo Bay, visible from Interstate I-80 and Richmond Parkway.
