The property now functions as Sacramento Mather Airport, supporting cargo operations, general aviation, and housing various government facilities including a veterans medical center.
The grounds contain rare wetland vernal pools that sustain native wildflowers such as the Yellow Mariposa Lily and other specialized plant species.
