Willamette Hall, Physics Department building at University of Oregon, United States
Willamette Hall is a four-story academic building at the University of Oregon housing faculty offices, classrooms, research laboratories, and a 224-seat lecture hall. The structure connects internally to Klamath Hall through passages that allow seamless movement through the science complex without going outside.
The building opened in winter 1990 with support from the Department of Energy for its construction. This project expanded the university's capacity for teaching and research in the physical sciences during a period of institutional growth.
Physical sciences students gather in this building to conduct research experiments and attend lectures in modern laboratory settings within the Lorry I Lokey Science Complex.
The building is located at 1371 E 13th Avenue in Eugene and sits easily within the main campus layout. Its position in the science complex allows visitors to access related facilities and buildings nearby without difficulty.
The exterior walls feature sculptures of famous scientists including Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, and Marie Curie, created by artist Wayne Chabre. These artworks serve as reminders of scientific achievements and add a distinctive visual character to the facade.
