Deady and Villard Halls, Academic buildings at University of Oregon, Eugene, United States
The halls exhibit Second Empire architectural style with mansard roofs, ornate details, and stone-like stucco finishes on their exterior facades.
Constructed between 1873 and 1876, Deady Hall and Villard Hall represent the first educational structures built on the University of Oregon campus.
The theater program at Villard Hall maintains performance spaces and educational facilities that support theatrical education at the university.
The Oregon Legislature has allocated 58.5 million dollars for renovations to enhance accessibility, heating systems, and seismic safety in both structures.
These buildings stand among the oldest remaining academic structures on the western coast of the United States, earning National Historic Landmark status in 1977.
