The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art maintains three permanent galleries dedicated to Chinese, Japanese, Korean art and modern Cuban collections at the University of Oregon.
Ellis F Lawrence designed the original museum building in 1933 to house the Murray Warner Collection of Oriental Art donated by Gertrude Bass Warner.
The museum displays rotating exhibitions from international artists and maintains educational programs connecting students with contemporary and historical visual arts expressions.
The museum welcomes visitors Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Thursday through Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering free admission to university students.
The main western facade features three philosophical inscriptions from different traditions: Proverbs, Plato, and Lao Tzu, reflecting the museum's multicultural approach.
