Boyd Cave is a lava tube in Deschutes County, Oregon, with passages formed from dark volcanic rock beneath the forest floor. The tunnel system winds through underground chambers with porous basalt walls and remains accessible for most of its length.
The tunnel formed thousands of years ago when flowing lava cooled and left a hollow passage through rock. A forest worker discovered the site in the 1920s and gave it the name it carries today.
