Columbia Park, Urban park in North Portland, United States.
Columbia Park is a 35-acre green space in North Portland featuring Douglas firs, linden trees, and open meadows connected by walking trails. The park contains sports fields, playgrounds, picnic areas, and a splash pad alongside natural forest areas.
The park was established in 1891 when the City of Albina purchased wooded land for public use. After Portland and Albina merged, it became the first major green space serving the northwestern part of the city.
The Tudor-style cottage from 1940 remains a focal point for community gatherings and has witnessed decades of neighborhood life. Locals use the park as a meeting place for celebrations and informal social activities.
The park opens at 5:00 AM and closes at midnight daily, with accessible restrooms and picnic facilities spread throughout. Walking paths are generally flat and easy to navigate for visitors of different mobility levels.
The Nature Patch, added in 2020, displays wildflowers including crocuses with flat-topped log benches set among the trees. This section was designed specifically to attract pollinators and create a habitat for native species.
