Union Bank of California Tower, High-rise building in downtown Portland, Oregon
The Union Bank of California Tower stands 82 meters tall with 15 floors and features an exposed service core covered in gray slate from Wales.
The building opened its doors in December 1969 and held the title of Portland's tallest structure until the Georgia-Pacific Building surpassed it in height.
The architectural firm Anshen and Allen incorporated International Style elements into the design, reflecting the commercial development of Portland during the late 1960s.
The tower contains 200,000 square feet of office space and provides 339 parking spots across four underground levels for tenant use.
The exterior slate used in construction comes from the same Welsh quarry that supplied the stones for the ancient monument of Stonehenge.
