Washington's 6th congressional district spans the Olympic Peninsula, Kitsap Peninsula, and Tacoma, covering Clallam, Kitsap, Mason, Jefferson, Grays Harbor, and part of Pierce counties. The area combines forested countryside with urban centers and maritime communities along Puget Sound.
The district was established after the 1930 census and took its current boundaries in the following decades. It has elected Democratic representatives to Congress since 1965.
The district population of 785,859 includes 72.5% White, 9.1% Hispanic, 7.8% multiracial, and various other ethnic communities across its maritime and forested regions.
