Joemma Beach State Park, Marine state park on Key Peninsula in Pierce County, United States.
Joemma Beach State Park is a coastal park covering about 122 acres with over 3,000 feet of shoreline along Puget Sound on Key Peninsula. The property offers camping spots, restroom facilities, and a dock for boaters and fishing enthusiasts.
The land became a state park in 1995 and was named in honor of Joe and Emma Smith, who resided there between 1917 and 1932. Converting their property into a public park preserved this chapter of local history along Puget Sound.
The park serves as a gathering place where people from nearby communities come for picnics and small celebrations near the water. The open grounds and beach sections are regularly used for local events and social occasions.
Visitors need a Discover Pass to drive into the park and will find tent camping spots, outdoor toilets, and a dock for boats. Parking is generally easy, and the area is open year-round, though warmer months tend to draw more people.
The park includes two water-based camping sites designed specifically for paddlers arriving by kayak or canoe. These spots allow travelers to camp right at the shore without needing a vehicle to enter the park.
