Ucluelet Aquarium, Public aquarium in Ucluelet, Canada
The Ucluelet Aquarium displays marine species from Clayoquot and Barkley Sounds through a flow-through system that pumps raw seawater into the exhibits.
The facility started in 2004 as a small waterfront project before expanding into its current permanent structure, which opened its doors in May 2012.
The aquarium operates on the traditional territory of the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ First Nation, integrating local marine education with community involvement.
Located at 180 Main Street, the facility houses approximately 300 native marine animals, including octopi, rockfish, crabs, and various marine invertebrates.
Following a collect-and-release model, all marine specimens return to their natural habitats after spending about nine months in the aquarium displays.
