Cape Mudge Lighthouse, Heritage lighthouse in Quadra Island, Canada
The octagonal concrete tower stands 12 meters tall with a red balcony and lantern at the southwestern coast of Quadra Island.
Built in 1898 as a wooden structure and replaced in 1916 with concrete, the lighthouse guided vessels through the Discovery Passage during the Klondike Gold Rush.
The lighthouse marks the entrance to Discovery Passage, connecting marine traffic between Alaska and Washington while supporting local maritime activities.
The lighthouse maintains a light range of 13 nautical miles and includes additional buildings such as residential quarters, an engine room, and storage facilities.
From 1936 to 1985, the station collected daily water temperature and salinity measurements as part of the British Columbia Shore Station Oceanographic Program.
