Elk Falls Suspension Bridge, Suspension bridge at Elk Falls Provincial Park, Campbell River, Canada
Elk Falls Suspension Bridge is a 60-meter-long footbridge that rises 64 meters above the Campbell River and provides views of the 25-meter Elk Falls waterfall below. The structure spans across the deep canyon, allowing visitors to observe the falls and surrounding landscape from multiple vantage points.
The bridge opened in 2015, coinciding with the 75th anniversary celebration of Elk Falls Provincial Park. It replaced earlier observation points that had served visitors before this new structure was built.
The bridge links visitors to the traditional territories of Indigenous peoples who have long held deep connections to the waterways in this region.
A flat and wide trail leads from the parking lot to the bridge, passing an information center and a metal crossing along the way. The path is straightforward and accessible for most visitors throughout the day.
This is the highest pedestrian bridge on Vancouver Island and provides year-round views into Elk Falls Canyon from an exceptional vantage point. The structure offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience the falls and canyon from this elevated perspective.
