BC Forest Discovery Centre, Forest industry museum in Duncan, British Columbia, Canada.

The BC Forest Discovery Centre is a museum spread across 100 acres with narrow gauge railways that wind through forests and wetlands. It features indoor exhibits, walking trails, a lookout tower, and a marsh area for watching wildlife.

The museum started in 1964 when collector Gerry Wellburn began gathering vintage trains and forestry equipment. Over time, it grew into a place dedicated to preserving the logging industry's story in British Columbia.

The center shows how forests and logging have shaped life in this region for generations. The vintage trains and equipment reflect the people who worked these lands and their importance to the area's development.

The best way to explore is to walk slowly and take in the surroundings while watching for wildlife. Comfortable shoes are important since there are many trails and the ground can be uneven.

The center houses a working Climax locomotive, the only operational one of its kind in all of Canada. You can actually see this rare engine running on the narrow gauge railways, making it a piece of living engineering history.
