Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, Yacht club in Vancouver, Canada.
The Royal Vancouver Yacht Club is a sailing and boating club in Vancouver, Canada, with two waterfront locations at Jericho Beach and Coal Harbour. Both sites have restaurants and bars, and kayaks and paddleboards are available to rent at the Jericho Beach location.
The club was founded in 1903 as the Vancouver Yacht Club and received its royal designation in 1906. Its main base moved to Jericho Beach in 1927, where it has remained ever since.
The club brings together people who share a love of sailing and open water, with races and social events held throughout the year. The Coal Harbour location sits right in the heart of the city, making it a visible part of Vancouver's waterfront life.
Both locations are easy to reach by public transit and sit directly on the water. Some areas and services are reserved for members, so it is worth checking in advance what is open to the general public.
The Dock Building at Jericho Beach, completed in 2017, won an architectural award for its design built around the daily needs of working boaters. The structure sits partly over the water, which is unusual for a building of its kind in the city.
