Mount Seymour Provincial Park

Mount Seymour Provincial Park is a nature reserve in the North Shore Mountains with varied terrain throughout. The landscape features mountain slopes, quiet lakes, and old forests connected by numerous hiking routes of different difficulty levels.

The area was protected in 1936 and named after a 19th-century British colonial official. Mountaineers began climbing the peaks in the early 1900s, establishing it as a recreation destination.

The British Columbia Mountaineering Club made the first documented ascent of Mount Seymour in 1908, marking the beginning of recreational activities in this area.

The trails are easiest to access during warmer months, with higher areas staying snow-covered longer. Visitors should prepare for changing weather and wear sturdy footwear along with layered clothing.

The park receives varying amounts of snow depending on elevation, with upper sections accumulating up to 1,000 centimeters while lower areas get 100 centimeters annually.
