Crescent Beach, Coastal neighborhood and beach in Surrey, Canada
Crescent Beach is a residential neighborhood and beach along Semiahmoo Bay with a long sandy and gravelly shoreline. Homes sit just behind the beach, and driftwood logs are scattered across the sand, creating a natural, undeveloped appearance.
The area was a seasonal meeting place for the Snokomish people, who came to harvest clams from the tidal flats. European settlement arrived in the mid-1800s and changed the way the land was used.
The area attracts people who come for swimming, walking, and family outings on weekends and sunny days. Local residents have created a casual, everyday community where the beach is simply part of their routine.
The beach is easy to reach from Beecher Street and several nearby parking areas along the waterfront. You will find washrooms, shower facilities, and a few casual restaurants, plus designated zones for swimming.
Excavations have uncovered evidence of the First Nations people who lived around this bay for thousands of years. Arrowheads and other artifacts found in the sand show how long this place has been important to humans.
