Westfield Southcenter, The largest mall in Washington State.
Westfield Southcenter is a shopping center in Tukwila, Washington, with more than 200 stores spread across multiple floors. Alongside the shops, the building houses restaurants, a movie theater, a bowling alley, and an entertainment zone called Round1 with arcade games and karaoke.
The mall opened in 1968 and quickly became a key shopping destination for communities south of Seattle. After the 2002 Westfield takeover, major renovations reshaped the building into what it looks like today.
The name comes from the 2002 takeover by the Australian Westfield Group, which gave the place a new direction. Today, families, teenagers, and workers come here to spend time together, eat, or simply fill the day with something to do.
The center sits close to Seattle-Tacoma airport and is easy to reach by car, with free parking on site. For those arriving without a car, a bus line stops directly in front of the building.
The mall has a Sky Terrace, an event space inside the building, from which Mount Rainier is visible on clear days. Spotting a snow-covered volcano from inside a shopping center is something most visitors do not expect.
