The initial ascent of Hozomeen North Peak occurred on September 6, 1904, when Sledge Tatum and George Loudon completed their expedition.

The name Hozomeen comes from Salish language, translating to sharp like a knife, reflecting the mountain's distinctive profile against the sky.

Climbers reach the summit through the Skyline II Trail, covering 24.7 miles round trip with necessary equipment for variable weather conditions.

The mountain contains deposits of Hozomeen chert, a stone material utilized by indigenous peoples for crafting tools and implements.
