Otter Lake Provincial Park, Provincial park in Okanagan-Similkameen, Canada
Otter Lake Provincial Park is a protected area in the Okanagan-Similkameen region with two main sections: a picnic area near Tulameen and a campground along the northern shore of Otter Lake. The facility accommodates around 45 camping units with basic amenities including fire rings and picnic tables.
The protected area was established in 1963 and underwent several changes over the decades. Its size was adjusted gradually and eventually stabilized at around 55 hectares.
The Tulameen region served as a strategic base camp for First Nations communities who conducted hunting and trapping activities in the surrounding lands.
The park operates from mid-May through late September, offering the best conditions for visits during these months. The grounds are well laid out with clear pathways and signage to help you navigate the area.
The nearby Kettle Valley Rail Trail, a segment of the Trans Canada Trail, follows a former railway line along the eastern lakeshore. This historic route provides walkers and cyclists direct access to the water and links several communities across the region.
