Cascade Recreation Area, Provincial park in Fraser Valley and Okanagan-Similkameen, Canada.
The Cascade Recreation Area is a provincial park spanning over 11,000 hectares of mountainous terrain that forms part of the Hozameen Range in British Columbia's Cascade Mountains. The landscape features dense forests, steep slopes, and multiple waterfalls throughout the territory.
The area was established as a standalone provincial recreation area in 1987 but maintained this status for only around two decades. In 2010, it became incorporated into the neighboring E.C. Manning Provincial Park.
The waterfalls scattered throughout the area show how water shapes the landscape here. Visitors can experience the local ecosystems while exploring different trails and terrain.
The area can be accessed from the towns of Hope and Princeton and welcomes visitors year-round with different seasonal activities. Plan your visit based on your preferred activity and expect changing weather conditions throughout the year.
The area holds a wilderness designation that protects habitats for wildlife living in this mountainous region. This special status means the landscape remains largely undisturbed by development or intensive use.
