Bass Lake, Lake
Bass Lake is a reservoir in Madera County, California, created by damming to form a large body of water in the Sierra Nevada region. The lake features multiple coves and inlets along its shoreline, surrounded by forest that slopes down to the water's edge.
The lake was created in the early 1900s when a dam was built to store water for power generation and irrigation. This construction transformed the landscape and eventually established it as a recreation destination.
The lake is accessible by car with several entry points and parking areas along the shore. Summer and early fall offer the best visiting conditions with warm weather and clear road access.
