The Chicken Ranch is a licensed brothel at 10511 Homestead Road, about 60 miles west of Las Vegas near Pahrump in Nye County. The 17-bed house sits on 40 acres, with a separate building linked by a breezeway holding three decorated themed bungalows. A tall purple sign on a pink and white two-post support reads "Chicken Ranch" with a stockinged leg and high-heeled shoe.

Walter Plankinton opened the Chicken Ranch in 1976 inside Pahrump town limits, where prostitution was illegal; after conviction he moved it into Nye County and served 60 days in jail in 1981. The Nevada Supreme Court had ruled in his favor in 1978, the year arsonists burned the house and he reopened five days later with new trailers. In 1982 he sold it for $1,250,000 to Kenneth Green and Russel Reade.

The ranch displays memorabilia from the original Chicken Ranch outside La Grange, Texas, the source of the name. Its Leghorn Bar has a separate entrance for visitors who prefer not to enter the parlor. The six-part Sundance Channel series Pleasure for Sale (2008) documented life and tensions among the women working here.
