Chapelle Saint-Laurent de Castellu di Capula, Medieval chapel in Levie, France
The Saint-Laurent Chapel sits within the archaeological site of Castellu di Capula, surrounded by dense woodland and ancient stone structures.
The chapel stands near a Bronze Age fortress settlement, and the entire archaeological complex received historical monument status in December 1990.
Each year on August 9, local residents gather at the chapel for a traditional pilgrimage dedicated to Saint Laurent.
The chapel can be reached through a 20-minute forest walk from the main archaeological site of Cucuruzzu, following marked pathways.
The religious structure combines medieval Tuscan architectural influences with local Corsican building techniques, reflecting the island's historical connections.
