Chapelle Saint-Laurent de Castellu di Capula

Chapelle Saint-Laurent de Castellu di Capula is a medieval chapel located within an archaeological site near Levie. It stands in a forested setting surrounded by ancient stone structures from a Bronze Age settlement.

The chapel was built in medieval times on land that had been inhabited since the Bronze Age. The entire archaeological complex was granted protected monument status in 1990, recognizing the long history of this site.

The chapel remains a place of local devotion where residents gather on August 9 to honor Saint Lawrence. This annual gathering connects the community to their religious roots and the faith that has shaped life here.

To reach the chapel, follow marked forest paths for about 20 minutes from the Cucuruzzu archaeological site. Wear sturdy shoes and plan the walk during dry season, as the ground can become slippery after rain.
