Piscia di Ghjaddu, Natural waterfall in San-Gavino-di-Carbini, France.

Piscia di Ghjaddu is a waterfall in the mountains of San-Gavino-di-Carbini that plunges over steep rock faces. The water cascades down in stages, creating a striking sight visible from several spots along the hiking trail.

The rocky landscape around the waterfall was important to herders, who built stone shelters called orii here. These simple structures provided refuge for traveling herds and their shepherds as they moved through this rugged mountain region.

Local residents maintain traditional hiking routes to the waterfall, preserving natural pathways that connect visitors to Corsican mountain heritage.

The trail to the waterfall starts near a mountain lake and follows pathways marked with yellow signs. Good hiking boots are recommended since the route goes uphill and the ground can be uneven and slippery in places.

The valley has unusual rock formations created by erosion called tafoni, with some showing bizarrely hollowed surfaces. One of these formations named A Sapara stands right beside the hiking trail and looks like a natural sculpture.
