Bonneville Shoreline Trail

The Bonneville Shoreline Trail is a network of paths in northern Utah that follows the ancient shoreline of Lake Bonneville. The trail winds through mountain slopes, forests, and residential areas, offering different sections for various skill levels and interests.

The trail marks the boundary of a massive prehistoric lake that naturally drained about 14,000 years ago, leaving geological marks. These landscape features remain visible today and shape how the region looks.

The path passes through different elevations and terrain conditions, so bring appropriate footwear and gear depending on the section you choose. Many parts lie near roads and neighborhoods, which makes it easier to enter and exit, but also means some areas can be busy.

Although the path runs through urban and rural areas, it follows a consistent geological feature that traces invisible ancient water boundaries across the land. This makes walking each section feel like following a hidden thread of old geography written into the terrain.
