Farmington Rock Chapel, Stone church building in Farmington, Utah, US.
Farmington Rock Chapel is a church building constructed from locally quarried stone with design elements inspired by Greek Revival architecture, expanded through three additional wings. The interior spaces accommodate multiple congregations and community functions.
Built between 1861 and 1863, the structure was designed by pioneer architect Reuben Broadbent and dedicated in January 1864 by Elder Wilford Woodruff. One year after its dedication, it became the site where a children's organization was established.
The chapel serves as a gathering place where members of the community come together for worship and social events throughout the year. Its use by three different congregations shows how the building remains central to local religious life.
The building remains in active use for regular services and community gatherings throughout the week. Visitors should check ahead to respect the ongoing religious functions and community activities scheduled at the site.
A large mural by Lynn Fausett adorns the back wall, created to mark an important anniversary of the children's organization that started there. This artwork represents an unexpected artistic addition to the building's original stone architecture.
