Abbey of Our Lady of the Holy Trinity

The Abbey of Our Lady of the Holy Trinity is a Trappist monastery located in Huntsville, Utah, spread across mountain terrain with forests and open land. The compound included monk residences, a chapel for worship, and farming areas that supported the community's agricultural work.

The monastery was founded in 1947 when monks arrived and established their community in converted military buildings. The community grew substantially over the following decades before closing its operations in 2017.

This place served as a retreat for contemplative prayer and communal religious life following strict monastic traditions. The brothers gathered for prayer in their chapel and shared meals in silence, shaping the rhythm of daily life within the community.

The site is located in Utah's mountains, relatively remote from major cities, so a car is necessary to visit. The surrounding terrain is hilly and can present different conditions depending on the season.

The monks maintained a dedicated alfalfa field that served as a food source for bees, supporting the production of their honey varieties. This locally produced honey became one of their best-known products and was sold in their shop.
