Causey Reservoir, Mountain reservoir in Weber County, United States.
Causey Reservoir is a mountain lake in Weber County that stretches across three canyons in steep forested terrain. The water sits at about 5,700 feet elevation and is held back by an earth dam constructed in the 1960s.
The Bureau of Reclamation built this reservoir between 1962 and 1966 to supply water to the northern Wasatch Front region. The project was part of broader water management efforts in the mountain area.
The northern arm hosts Camp Kiesel, which serves as a gathering place for youth groups and scouting programs. It brings young people together to spend time outdoors and learn from the mountain setting.
The lake allows kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, and fishing but prohibits motorboats. Swimmers must wear life jackets, and visitors should prepare for steep shorelines and forested surroundings.
Each September the water turns red as Kokanee salmon swim upstream to spawn. This annual migration draws observers who come to witness this natural event.
