Boluo County, Administrative county in Huizhou, China
Boluo County is an administrative county in east-central Guangdong province that spans a large territory with seventeen towns. Luoyang serves as its administrative center where the main government offices are located.
The region was originally known as Fulou, a Yue state, until it was renamed to Boluo County in 280 CE under Emperor Wu of the Jin Dynasty. This change marked an important shift in how the area was governed and controlled.
Local communities maintain traditions through markets, regional food, and gatherings that shape daily life in the towns. Visitors can experience these established places where residents shop and gather naturally.
The area is well-connected by major expressways and highways that link the towns together. These road and rail connections make it easy to travel between communities and nearby regions.
The area is home to a specialized farm dedicated to raising the Chinese three-keeled turtle, an endangered species from southern Asia. This facility represents one of the few places focused on preserving this rare turtle species.
