Constructed in the late 2010s with a 1.5 billion dollar investment, the campus opened in 2019 as a research and development center for Huawei Technologies.
The campus integrates twelve distinct zones inspired by different European architectural styles, including replicas of Heidelberg Castle and Cité Internationale Universitaire.
A 7.8-kilometer tram network connects different areas of the campus, providing transportation for the 25,000 employees between research facilities and amenities.
Each building zone represents a different European city, complete with water features, gardens, and replicas of landmarks from locations like Verona and Granada.
