Ox Horn Campus, Research campus in Dongguan, China.
Ox Horn Campus is a large research facility in Dongguan with over 100 buildings designed to resemble European urban landscapes. The site is divided into distinct zones, each with its own architectural character and landscaped areas including water features and plantings.
Construction began in the late 2010s and the facility opened in 2019 as a research center for Huawei Technologies. The project was designed to bring together professionals from around the world to work on innovation and technology development.
The campus blends architectural references from different European cities, creating familiar settings for visitors and employees from around the world. These replicas of castles and university districts shape how people experience and move through the various zones on a daily basis.
A tram network connects different parts of the campus for easy transport between buildings and facilities. The site is quite large, so comfortable walking shoes and time to explore are recommended.
Some buildings replicate famous European landmarks such as Heidelberg Castle and the university district of Verona, giving the research campus an unusual appearance. This creates an international work environment that is rarely found in mainland China.
