The Nantou Ancient City Museum occupies two floors with three exhibition halls displaying artifacts from the former Bao'an County government house.
The museum site stands where Nantou served as the administrative center of Xin'an County, with city walls constructed in 1394 during the Ming Dynasty.
The exhibition halls contain stone artifacts, historical maps, and detailed models that represent daily activities from different periods of Nantou's development.
Located at coordinates 22°32′27″N and 113°55′12″E, the museum welcomes visitors daily from 09:30 to 17:30 without charging an entrance fee.
The museum preserves remnants of the original south gate, measuring 10 meters wide and 4.5 meters tall, within an area of 70,000 square meters.
