Shenzhen Bay Park

Shenzhen Bay Park stretches along roughly 13 kilometers of waterfront and covers about 128 hectares with walking paths, recreational zones, and mangrove forests. The terrain combines paved routes with natural environments and includes multiple themed areas to explore.

The park opened in 2011 as preparations for the Summer Universiade took place, converting former industrial land into public spaces. Existing mangrove wetlands from earlier periods were retained and incorporated into the new design.

The park features the Sunrise Theater, Wedding Plaza, and Universiade Torch Tower, where residents and visitors gather regularly for events and performances. These landmarks have become part of daily life for people seeking community spaces along the bay.

The terrain is easy to walk and features designated paths for pedestrians and cyclists to access all themed areas. Information centers throughout the grounds provide guidance and help visitors navigate the space.

The site serves as a vital resting point for migratory birds traveling between Siberia and Australia, sheltering several endangered species. This ecological role makes it a notable destination for bird-watching during migration seasons.
