OCT Tower is a modern skyscraper in Nanshan District with 60 above-ground floors and 5 underground levels reaching 300 meters into the sky. The building houses office spaces, retail areas, and services distributed throughout its height.

In 2003 OCT Group acquired the land-use rights for plot T309-0160, where the tower now stands, without signing a lease. The site was levelled in April 2013 and the project broke ground in March 2014; the structure topped out at 300 metres in 2017 and was completed in 2019. In April 2019 OCT Group sold 60% of the tower's above-ground rights to China Life Insurance for 12 billion yuan.

The tower's name comes from the Overseas Chinese Town (OCT) district, the area developed by the OCT Group, the state-owned company whose headquarters occupy floors 54 to 58. In April 2019 the group sold 60% of the tower's above-ground rights to China Life Insurance for 12 billion yuan, so the building now mixes corporate headquarters, leased offices and a mall.

The building is equipped with modern elevators and circulation systems with direct access to Shennan Boulevard. Visitors will find good signage and accessibility throughout the structure for navigation.

In April 2019 OCT Group sold a 60% stake in the tower's land-use rights to China Life Insurance for 12 billion yuan. Floors 54 to 58 were reserved for OCT Group's own headquarters, while the observation deck sits on the 59th floor.
