Mount Luofu

Mount Luofu is a mountain range in Guangdong Province reaching 1,296 meters at its highest point, with numerous subsidiary peaks covering the terrain. The massif is traversed by multiple waterfalls, caves, and hiking trails that connect different sections of the area.

A Taoist practitioner named Ge Hong established meditation sites on the mountain during the Eastern Jin dynasty, which later developed into the temples visible today. These early spiritual settlements became the foundation for the religious structures that still stand on the site.

The temples on the mountain preserve connections to traditional Chinese martial arts schools, particularly Dragon and Bak Mei styles, which visitors can learn about during their visit.

The site offers hiking trails throughout the terrain or a cableway for faster access to the upper areas. Visitors should expect varied ground conditions and different difficulty levels along the different routes.

A grotto on the mountain is associated with alchemical experiments and legendary attempts at immortality by an ancient Taoist master. Visitors can still explore this historically charged location during their visit.
