LianHua Hill, Mountain park in Panyu District, China

LianHua Hill is a mountain park in Panyu shaped by river landscapes and former quarry sites. The grounds include walking paths, gardens, pagodas, and religious statues spread across different elevations.

The site shows traces of stone quarrying from the Western Han period, which shaped the landscape as it is today. Later, structures like a pagoda and an old walled settlement were built here during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

The place takes its name from the lotus flower, which represents purity and enlightenment in Chinese culture. You can see this meaning reflected in the gardens and decorations throughout the site.

The park is easiest to explore on foot, with walking paths of varying difficulty available throughout. There is also a shuttle bus for those who prefer a less strenuous option.

The grounds hold a large gilded statue of a goddess overlooking the valley that can be seen from several kilometers away. This striking figure has become a recognizable landmark across the wider region.
