Ancient WongPou Port

The port stretches along the Pearl River Delta, featuring traditional Lingnan architecture, ancient piers, and maritime structures from the Qing Dynasty period.

Established in 1685, WongPou Port served as China's primary international trading gateway, where foreign merchant ships obtained licenses before conducting business in Guangzhou.

The WongPou Historical Exhibit Hall displays maritime artifacts, trade documents, and detailed murals depicting the daily activities of merchants during the port's active years.

Visitors can reach the port by taking metro line 8 or 4 to Wanshengwei station, followed by a short bus ride on route 229 to the village entrance.

The village specializes in ginger milk dessert, where hot ginger juice causes fresh milk to solidify instantly, creating a spicy-sweet pudding texture.
