Dive Coaster, Steel roller coaster in Panyu, Guangzhou, China
The Dive Coaster is a steel roller coaster at Chimelong Paradise Park in Guangzhou, China, recognizable by its red tracks and yellow support columns. It runs three trains, each holding 10 riders arranged in single rows, giving every passenger an unobstructed front view.
The Dive Coaster was designed by Swiss manufacturer Bolliger and Mabillard and opened at Chimelong Paradise in 2008. It was among the first major rides at the park, helping to build its reputation as a top entertainment destination in the region.
The Dive Coaster sits in the Rainbow Bay section of Chimelong Paradise, drawing thrill-seekers from across Asia. Its red tracks and yellow support columns make it easy to spot from a distance within the park.
Riders must meet a minimum height requirement of 140 cm (about 4 ft 7 in) to board this ride. The coaster is clearly signed within the park and easy to reach from the main entrance, so it fits naturally into a day visit.
The ride ends with a plunge through a tunnel that sends water splashing up around the train. This water finale is unusual for a dive coaster and catches many riders off guard, especially those sitting in the front row.
