Chunyang Temple

Chunyang Temple is a Taoist sanctuary located in Guangzhou's Haizhu District, positioned on Shuzhu Hill and featuring multiple halls with curved roofs and intricate ornamental carvings. The buildings display classical Chinese architectural design throughout their structures and decorative elements.

The temple was founded in 1824 by Li Mingzhe during Guangzhou's rapid expansion in the 19th century. It became a religious center that grew alongside the city's development during this transformative period.

The temple remains an active place where followers gather to perform Taoist rituals and meditation practices guided by the lunar calendar. Visitors can sense how these ceremonies shape the daily rhythm and spiritual purpose of the site.

The site is located at 268 Ruikang Road and is open daily with no entrance fee required. Visitors should be prepared for hillside terrain and wear suitable shoes since steps and pathways lead through the grounds.
