Church of the Intercession in Harbin, Eastern Orthodox church building in Nangang District, Harbin, China.

The Church of the Intercession is an Orthodox house of worship with Russian-Byzantine architecture and prominent onion domes rising above Harbin. The brick building displays intricate patterns on its outer walls and combines Eastern design features with solid craftsmanship.

The building was founded in 1902 as a prayer house and completed as a brick structure in 1930, funded by the China Eastern Railway. The structure was constructed under architect Tidanov's direction and reflects the Russian presence in this railway city.

The church serves a small Orthodox community that gathers to maintain traditions rooted in its founding decades. Visitors can observe the icon screens and religious ornaments that shape the interior and reflect Eastern Christian practices.

Access is available on foot via Church Street, with the building located northeast of Hongbo Square in an area with several Christian sites. Visitors should note this is an active place of worship where appropriate dress and respect for ongoing services are expected.

The onion domes are unusual for Harbin and showcase the Russian architectural presence that came to the city during the railway expansion era. This dome style is rarely found in other churches across the region and makes the building immediately recognizable.
