Diamond Hill station, Underground metro station in Wong Tai Sin District, Hong Kong
Diamond Hill station is an underground metro interchange in the Wong Tai Sin District of Hong Kong, serving two lines. Several exits lead directly to the Plaza Hollywood shopping complex and to surrounding residential neighborhoods.
The station opened on 1 October 1979 as a stop on a single line. A second line was added in February 2020, making it a proper interchange for the first time.
The station's interior features design elements inspired by diamonds, with dark grey walls adorned with silver stones that reflect the area's historical name. These decorative details give the space its character as you walk through different levels.
The station has multiple exits leading to different parts of the neighborhood, and signs throughout the concourse make it easy to find the right one. Lifts and stairs connect all levels, so getting between the two lines is straightforward.
On one of the platforms, spaces hidden behind advertising panels were set aside during construction for a possible future expansion of the network. This means part of the station was built ready to grow before any second line was even planned.
