Ngau Chi Wan Park, Urban park in Wong Tai Sin District, Hong Kong.
Ngau Chi Wan Park is a recreational space divided across four platforms with jogging paths, fitness stations, gardens, and a rocky pool featuring buffalo sculptures. The layout spreads across different elevation levels, with separate zones for various activities and user groups.
The park opened in 2011 on a former landfill site, converting a neglected area into a recreation space for the Wong Tai Sin community. This transformation of contaminated ground into a functional park marked a significant urban renewal effort for the district.
The name Ngau Chi Wan means Cattle Pond Bay, a reference to the livestock that once roamed this area when it was still a waterfront beneath Hammer Hill.
The multi-level park layout takes time to explore, but clear signage helps you navigate between the different platforms. Specialized areas include an archery range on the east side and basketball courts, with dedicated zones for pets and elderly visitors.
The park features a maze garden and dedicated fitness zones for seniors, allowing visitors of different ages to find activities suited to their needs. This thoughtful layout makes it a gathering place for the entire community.
