Kwun Yum Temple, Tsz Wan Shan

Kwun Yum Temple in Tsz Wan Shan is a Buddhist sanctuary featuring intricate carved details, tended gardens, and traditional Chinese architecture across its grounds. The complex houses several halls, including the Water Moon Palace with statues of Sakyamuni Buddha, Medicine Buddha, and Amitabha Buddha.

The temple was founded in 1853 during the Qing Dynasty's Xianfeng period and has shaped the region's religious life since then. Between 1970 and 1990, it underwent extensive restoration that preserved its structure and artwork for future generations.

The temple is dedicated to Kwun Yum, a revered bodhisattva in Chinese folk practice known for compassion and aid. Visitors come to light incense and make offerings, reflecting the central place this sanctuary holds in the community's daily spiritual life.

The temple is open daily for visitors and is located along Shatin Pass Road in Wong Tai Sin District. Wearing sturdy footwear is recommended, and visiting during quieter hours allows you to explore the gardens and halls without crowds.

The temple grounds feature two notable rocks with special names: Lovers Rock and Treasure Reflection Rock. These stones draw visitors seeking blessings for love or prosperity.
