Malinghe River Bridge, Cable-stayed bridge in Xing Yi City, Guizhou Province, China.
The Malinghe River Bridge is a cable-stayed structure completed in 2011 that rises 241 meters above the Malinghe River and features a main span of 360 meters, connecting transportation routes across the deep river gorge in the mountainous terrain of Guizhou Province.
Before the bridge opened in 2011, residents of Qian Xi Nan Bu Yi Zu Miao Zu Zi Zhi Zhou relied on difficult mountain paths to cross the Malinghe River gorge, making trade and daily travel extremely challenging during adverse weather conditions and limiting economic development in the region.
The bridge serves communities predominantly inhabited by Bouyei and Miao ethnic groups, facilitating cultural exchanges between villages and enabling residents to maintain traditional practices while accessing modern amenities, markets, and educational facilities previously difficult to reach.
Located at postal code 562411 along the Shankun Expressway, the bridge is accessible by vehicular traffic and offers designated viewing points where visitors can observe the structure and surrounding mountainous landscape, though travelers should consider weather conditions before planning trips.
At the time of its completion, the bridge ranked among the top 25 highest bridges worldwide and required remote-controlled equipment and aerial platforms during construction due to the steep cliffs and challenging geological conditions of the deep river valley.
