Provo Peak

Provo Peak is a summit in the Wasatch Range composed of limestone and quartzite with steep rocky faces on all sides. The mountain features multiple ridgeline routes that climbers can follow to reach the top.

Early settlers in Utah used this peak as a geographical reference point while establishing travel routes through the Wasatch Range. Its prominent location made it a natural landmark for pioneers moving westward.

Local mountain climbing groups regularly document their ascents of Provo Peak, contributing to the regional mountaineering knowledge base.

The main trail starts at Squaw Peak Road trailhead, which is accessible by high-clearance vehicle along an unpaved approach. Plan for steep terrain and exposed ridge walking that requires careful footing.

The north face contains several steep snow channels that remain covered until late June, providing extended winter climbing opportunities.
