The peak was first documented as climbed in 1877 by topographer A.D. Wilson during a Hayden Survey expedition. This early ascent was part of systematic surveying efforts across the Wind River Range in the late 1800s.

The hike to the summit departs from Worthen Meadows Trailhead and covers roughly 15 miles round trip. Camping spots near Deep Creek Lakes offer good stopping points along the route.
