Atlantic City

Atlantic City is a small settlement in the mountains of Wyoming where old log cabins and mining structures remain scattered across a forested plateau. The buildings stand among pine trees and rocky terrain, showing how people lived and worked in this remote location.

The settlement began in the 1860s when prospectors discovered gold in the area and quickly built a camp. Mining continued as the main activity for several decades before the population gradually declined.

Local residents maintain mining town traditions through regular gatherings and events that reflect the historical significance of gold extraction activities.

The location requires a high-clearance vehicle, especially during winter when snow covers the mountain pass leading there. Visitors should bring plenty of water and supplies since no shops or services operate in the settlement.

The settlement shares its name with the New Jersey coastal resort but developed as a completely different mining community in the Wyoming mountains.
