Ryan Peak, Mountain summit in Boulder Mountains, Idaho, US.

Ryan Peak is a summit in the Boulder Mountains of central Idaho, rising to about 11,700 feet and featuring prominent limestone faces with sheer rock walls. The south ridge and surrounding terrain offer multiple climbing approaches of varying difficulty.

The first recorded ascent occurred in 1894 when E.T. Perkins and W. Griswold reached the summit, leading to the naming of nearby peaks after these early explorers. This climb marks an important moment in the region's mountaineering history.

The peak bears the name of Mike Ryan, a Wood River Teamster who shaped early development in this mountain region. The name reflects the role of local pioneers in exploring these highlands.

The main approach starts at the North Fork Big Wood River Trail and follows forest route 128 through steep terrain toward the south ridge. Weather changes rapidly at this elevation, so starting early in the day and monitoring conditions is important for safety.

The peak sits at the watershed divide between two major river systems: Pass Creek feeds the Salmon River on one side, while the north slope drains into the Big Lost River system. This geographic feature makes the summit a hydrological crossroads worth noting.
