Lake Entiat, reservoir on the Columbia River in Chelan County and Douglas County, Washington state, United States of America
Lake Entiat is a large reservoir on the Columbia River between Chelan and Douglas counties in Washington state. The water stretches across a wide area and is held back by a dam that was built to manage water flow and produce electricity.
The dam was built many years ago to enable flood control and power generation for the region. The project permanently changed the landscape of the Columbia River and created the lake that has since become a popular recreation area.
The area is easily accessible from several roads, with parking areas and boat launch sites nearby. Visitors will find picnic spots, restrooms, and basic facilities at surrounding parks, especially during the warmer months.
The northern section of the lake is only accessible by boat, plane, or hiking since no roads reach that far end. These remote areas offer quiet boat-in campgrounds with floating docks right on the water, preserving the lake's peaceful character.
